Description
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat soluble compound. This can be endogenously synthesized (produced in the human body). Oxidative stress, diseases or strenuous activities can result in a lowering of this important factor that is involved in mitochondrial respiration. The mitochondria is the site of ATP production. ATP is used by cells to carry out its daily functions. In addition, coenzyme Q10 has been reported in a peer reviewed journal of its ability to inhibit oxidation of proteins, DNA, and lipids.
